A list for the hardest weeks

Kainoa works with families at the hardest and most practical moments: the weeks after someone has died, and the days after a parent can no longer decide for themselves. He writes a one-page list at the first meeting, with what has a deadline and what can wait.

He also helps families with land that has passed through many hands and is now in many names. He says the work is mostly patience, a lot of family history and a careful search of the records.
